Exhibition- Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025
This year, to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Wiener Library for the Study of the Nazi Era and the Holocaust dedicates its main exhibition to the artists of the Theresienstadt Ghetto.
The Nazi regime used the Theresienstadt Ghetto as a main propaganda tool; they presented the ghetto as a retirement community for elderly German Jews. In reality, Theresienstadt was a main hub for deportations to other ghettos and death camps.
Despite the horrific living conditions in the ghetto, Theresienstadt had a thriving cultural life. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the lives of artists in Theresienstadt during the war and its aftermath.
