Yitzhak Shalet is only 11 years old when the Nazis invade Poland. He and he's parents are forced to flee for their lives to Lithuania, where they meet the Japanese Consul General to Lithuania, Chiune "Sempo" Sugihara. When the soviet annex Lithuania and Germany prepares to attack, thousands of Jewish refugees find themselves facing death once again. Their only hope is to obtain Japanese transit visas' and the only way that this can happen is if the Consul General is willing to disobey his government and risk his life to issue those "miracle visas".

Based on the true story of "Sempo" Sugihara, this exciting and sobering novel chronicles the perilous journey of the Jewish refugee family as they flee their homeland, eventually make their way to Eretz Yisrael, and, after helping to establish a new homeland for the Jewish people, begin their search for the man who saved their lives.
