Title
S.S. Dr. Mengele and his seven liliputs : documentary collection
Description
A collection of material, mostly pertaining to Mengele's activities in Auschwitz, his supposed postwar fate, and attempts to find him after the war. Contains documents, eyewitness accounts, articles which appeared in various periodicals, essays by Friedman on Mengele and Auschwitz, and excerpts from his correspondence with German officials and the Vatican. Some of the material deals with Jewish resistance in Auschwitz. The collection begins with the story of seven dwarfs, children of the Ovitz family from Sighet, Romania, who were picked out from a Jewish transport by Mengele for his "medical experiments" and thus saved from death in a gas chamber.
